How could library and patrons benefit from RSS feeds
RSS feeds are great for pulling in information from sources you need to be watching. My library already supports multiple databases that offer RSS feeds and supports users in setting them up and choosing the more appropriate ones for them to follow. Students and faculty in various areas can monitor new info specific to their work by setting up feeds specific to their past searches. New info is automatically sent and their searches stay up to date. One way staff could benefit from RSS feeds would be to sign everyone up to receive feeds from sources of information that they should be aware of and following. This would assure info was coming to them and access was not a problem. I think this completes my requirements for Week 1 (I missed this when I set everything up last week) so now I can move on to the Week 2 activities, Wikis!
